Report: £66.7m needed for summer deal

|

West Ham will have to pay up to £66.7m to sign Lucas Ocampos from Sevilla, according to a new report.

The Hammers have been linked with a swoop to sign the winger in the summer, with some claims suggesting that he could potentially leave the Spanish club when the transfer window reopens.

Ocampos has scored eight goals and provided four assists thus far this season and Wolves have also been credited with an interest.

Estadio Deportivo in Spain has reported that David Moyes’ side have made enquiries about his availability but it seems almost impossible that a deal will be brokered.

Ocampos is said to be in talks with Sevilla over a new deal that will raise his release clause to €80m, which translates to £66.7m.

The only way that Sevilla would be willing to sell is if they fail to qualify for the Champions League but that kind of fee is likely to be prohibitive for both the Hammers and Wolves.
