Report: Arnautovic January threat

|

Arnautovic 1West Ham appear ready to let David Moyes sell Marko Arnautovic in January and any other players who aren’t producing real form.

Whilst Moyes claims he has a decent group of players and that the squad  may only need a “tweak,” a morning newspaper report names Arnautovic in particular as a possible departure just a few months after he arrived as the club’s new record signing

Darren Lewis – who has good contacts to the club – writes in the Mirror that the left sided midfieder ” is already under threat after failing to impress either the fans or the club’s hierarchy.”

Beyond his three match ban for an elbowing offence early in the season, the former Stoke man and Austrian international has not impressed with his unwillingness to track back and may not fit the Moyes “run, run, run” demands on which he has already put much emphasis

Bournemouth’s Harry Arter is named as a potential target as West Ham want to strengthen in midfield rather than up front.

Moyes is an admirer of 27-year-old Republic of Ireland international Arter, who only signed a new four-year deal in July.

Moyes is also looking at the defence where there are clear problems at the moment.

After Zaza last year this is extremely embarrassing. Again it raises enormous question marks over the recruitment policy . Every club makes mistakes but…If you want to be depressed about our owners ( or just want your low opinions of them confirmed) have a look at an article today’s Times newspaper ( sorry I can’t give you a link to it). It is a demolition job.

He’s not on his own is he ffs , there’s at least 6-7 that need moving on , one needs to be retained for his knowledge of the club and given a role in the accadamy maybe !! No name needed !😉

I think Arnautovic is a good player, he probably needs a disciplinarian boss, he seems like that type of flaky player that when motivated are World beaters but keeping them motivated is a full time job, I hope we now see a more motivated player and if we were to sell him now, how much could we realistically get back £8 – 10 million ? That’s a big loss and paying up his contract would cost a fortune so I suspect we would be stuck with having to loan him out and pay some of his wages.

Agree I never understand the signing esp at that money bc he arguably had his best season last year w Stoke 7 goals 6 assists not great not bad.
But even his teammates say he shows up when he wants and thinks he is better then he is. He also likes to have the ball all the time.
To me at 28 a 5 year deal seemed mad & was just as risky as buying someone from Championship or Bundesliga look at Gross for £3m what a buy he was. Any player can be a gamble but Slaven stuck his neck out for him & he hansnt showed up.
& 32 yes we wouldn’t get half of what we paid & who would pay his wages id hope he turns around & we get something out of him.
But I also think he is a delicate character & too much discipline could hurt his feelings & he won’t be happy & want a leave.
He was start w Shaqiri at Stoke most said bigger then Shaq tho he scores brilliant goals & is on & off but seems better w Arnie out.. I think Arnie was pampered at Stoke but he is good for Austria too.
If he just showed effort that would be great

He might bring back Snodgrass his fellow countryman as well… But Villa fans want him on Permanent deal… But Snod is not a LWer we have no natural RWer tho besides Ant so he is heavily relied on tho would say Byram could cover there has in Championship

  • jimbo says:

More lazy journalism here. Moyes won’t have made his mind up about Ants or any other player in 3 days, and the insider view he reports will have been from the previous regime. After all, if Moyes can succeed in getting Ants to perform, he will tick a bleeding big box with the fans and the board. Time will tell.
And Snods looks better because he is playing a level below. Let’s not be fooled just yet!
