Report: Arnautovic linked with January Chelsea transfer

|

The Daily Express claims today that Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has been told to go all out for West Ham star Marko Arnautovic in the January transfer window.

“It would make absolute sense for Chelsea” ESPN pundit and former Liverpool player Steve Nichol told TV viewers. “It would make absolutely no sense for West Ham.

“If they’re to stay in the Premier League, because they look as though they’re going to be in a dogfight for most of the year, then this guy has to stay. If they want to stay in the Premier League, West Ham, he has to stay. But, if you’re Chelsea, you have to go and get him.”

The linking of Marko Arnautovic to a new four side is nothing new and the Austrian was linked to a move to Manchester United over the summer after Jose Mourinho watched him in an international game while on holiday. No bid or inquiry came in on that occasion but any inquiries or bids will be met with the response that the player is not for sale.

Steve Nicholl and other so called pundits should not make irresponsible comments on players currently contracted to their clubs. It is unsettling for all concerned and disrespectful to in this case West Ham United and their followers. Surely Chelsea can find a centre forward from within or call upon one of the 40 players they have farmed out!
