A new report suggests Everton are closing in on Andre Gomes. An article in Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo says the Toffees have re-opened talks with Barcelona to sign the midfielder who they loaned permanently last season.
Spurs have been reported to have cooled their interest. Mundo reckons Barcelona value Gomes at around £25m as Marcel Brands continues to negotiate with Barca technical director Cule. Barcelona will not sell on the cheap, the report claims after Everton forked out more than £2m for his loan services last term.
Other reports suggest the 25-year-old has been house hunting in the Wirral in Merseyside, that might be a bit difficult as he is on holiday on Italy at the moment but the house hunting rumours are one the media love to trot out to expand the story they are telling. Whether West Ham are prepared to spend over £25m remains to be seen as does whether Arsenal will enter the race.
