|

West Ham striker Lucas Perez is set to undergo an Alaves medical and completed a move to the club in the next 24 hours according to Football Insider

West Ham is reported to have accepted an offer of £2.2million from Alaves for Perez, who failed to establish himself at the London Stadium following his arrival from Arsenal for £4m last summer.

Football Insider claims that a West Ham source has told them that personal terms have been agreed between Alaves and the 30-year-old, who will undergo a medical in Spain this weekend. Perez only made 19 appearances for the Hammers, scoring six goals in all competitions for the club and they are happy for him to move on.

The forward who is thought to have earned £75,000 per week with the Hammers but did not figure in the long-term plans of Manuel Pellegrini.

With Andy Carroll already announced as a departure, it means that West Ham will be down on two strikers if this transfer goes through.

I am happy for the transfer to go through – and wish Perez the best of luck in Spain – however the 2.2 million price tag suggests that we need to be realistic about how much we will bring in via transfers (to add to the reported 30 million basic)
