West Ham are said to have revived their interest in Croatian defender Duje Ćaleta-Car this week, and are readying an offer according to L’Équipe.
The Marseille man, who reportedly turned down the Hammers last year, was also the subject of interest from Liverpool last January but the Ligue 1 side refused to sell their centre-back.
Negotiations are now currently underway for the Croatia international, with West Ham readying an offer of €14m (£11.8,m) which could rise to €17m (£14.4m) including bonuses. Marseille, who paid €19m (£16.1m) for the defender back in 2018, are looking to obtain a fee of at least €20m (£16.95m)
Other clubs are said to also be in the mix for the 24-year-old, who is under contract for another two years.
The Hammers are said to be in advanced talks to sign Nikola Milenkovic and are still hopeful of agreeing a fee with La Viola after stepping up their pursuit of the Serbian international.
What’s the play here is it money , we want a cheaper deal or is it to force Firontina into making a decision . We sure ain’t going to sign both Milenkovic is the one for our team . I want him , even if we pay 17 million he would be a bargain in the long run !
We should not be bidding for other CH’s if we are in negotiations with a Fiorentina, I believe it looks terrible on us and damages all integrity and reputation. Car is a very very average player, would prefer any other CB we have been linked with recently over him. He had a poor Euros and if you look at the Croatia CB pairing including Lovren, they are selected ahead of him which says everything for me.
Unlikely Moyesnos gonna sign merely off the back of bad,.or indeed good, performances at the Euros. Remember Florin Radiciou, anyone?
Go for both. Both could be partnership for next 8 years
