Report: Hammers in battle for Serie A man

|

West Ham are in a battle to sign Jakub Kiwior from Spezia ahead of the January transfer window, according to a new report in Italy.

The Hammers are reported to have made a bid for the 22-year-old in the summer, but Spezia wanted him to return to the club on loan instead of being allowed to move straight away.

The bid was worth around €12m, which equates to £10.5m. Spezia were said to be open to letting him leave but only if the loan back was included.

AC Milan were then said to have entered the bidding, and were eyeing up a move worth €18m, or £15.8m.

That fell away somewhat but both clubs are still said to be interested, alongside Barcelona, Roma, and Juventus, according to Calciomercato.

Kiwior is a Poland international with four caps and he has been impressing during his time with the club; he is just 22 but has already made 33 senior appearances for the club.
