Report: Hammers rejected Fiorentina bid for Masuaku

|

Italian Journalist Nicolo Schira claims West Ham rejected an approach by Fiorentina to sign Arthur Masuaku last June before the Hammers awarded him with a new five-year contract.

Schira wrote on Twitter yesterday:  “Masuaku has renewed until 2024 with West Ham. Pellegrini and Hammers have rejected last June an important offer from Fiorentina.”

The 25-year-old DR Congo international joined the Hammers from Olympiakos in 2016 for £6.2m on an initial four-year contract.

Masuaku, who played in the recent Africa Cup of Nations as Congo reached the last 16, has played 75 times for West Ham.

“It was an easy decision and I am looking forward to the season and giving my all for this club,” he told WHUFC.com

The new five year agreement also includes an option for the deal to be extended by a further two years.

Not a left back, not a winger. What the hell is he? Like Hugill, he will just hang up his cue now he’s set up for life. We are stuck with him for the next 5 years. Unbelievebly bad management
