Report: Hammers want Honduras international

|

West Ham want to do a deal to sign Honduras international Alberth Elis.

That’s according to a new report from Diario Diez in the country, with Elis currently playing for Bordeaux in France.

He joined the club on loan from Boavista in 2020, with Bordeaux holding the option to sign him permanently this summer.

The 26-year-old plays primarily as a right winger but is capable of playing as a striker and on the left wing, also.

Elis has impressed during his time with Bordeaux, scoring nine goals in Ligue 1 in 20 appearances, while also laying on one assist, but he has been unable to save them from relegation.

An experienced Honduras international with 53 caps to his name, plus 12 goals, Elis does not want to stay with Bordeaux beyond this summer.

They have been relegated to Ligue 2 after finishing rock bottom in the table.

The Hammers are considered among the contenders to secure his signature but Wolfsburg in Germany, Spanish side Rayo Vallecano and Italian club Fiorentina are also interested in signing Elis.
