Report: Hungarian centre back on Hammers radar

|

Fenerbahçe centre back Attila Szalai is on the radar of West Ham according to a report by NVRSpor.

Both Leicester City and West Ham United are said to be tracking the left-footed defender.

Both clubs are claimed to closely follow the Hungarian football player’s performance in EURO 2020 , are expected to start official initiatives at the end of the tournament.

Fenerbahçe does not plan to sell the 23-year-old defender unless a high-level offer is received. He scored 3 goals in 21 games last season.

He joined Fenerbahce from Apollon Limassol for £1.8m in January this year.

He made his debut in Austrian Bundesliga in 2016 against Altach for Rapid Wien before joining Fenerbahce.

He made his debut for Hungary national football team on 15 November 2019 in a friendly against Uruguay. He was substituted for Botond Baráth in the 72nd minute.

Earlier this month Szalai was included in the final 26-man squad to represent Hungary at the rescheduled UEFA Euro 2020 tournament
