Report: Irons eyeing potential Serie A swoop

|

West Ham are eyeing a potential move to sign Hamed Junior Traore from Sassuolo, according to a new report.

The Hammers, Spurs, and Brighton are all said to be monitoring his situation at the Serie A club.

An Ivory Coast international with four caps, the 22-year-old has been with Sassuolo since 2021, making 102 appearances in total for the Italian club.

He plays primarily as a left winger and has scored 18 goals for the club, while also providing nine assists.

Sassuolo signed Traore from Empoli, but they are said to see an opportunity to cash in on him amid the interest from England.

AC Milan are also said to be interested and Milan Live reports that he would cost around €30m, which equates to £26m.

The Hammers could do with a little more depth on the left flank but one has to wonder if a big-money move for Traore makes sense in January.
