Report: Midfielder’s season may be over

|

Fears have emerged that Hammers midfielder Carlos Sanchez may be sidelined until the end of the season.

The Colombian midfielder was forced off after nine minutes in the EFL Cup clash against Macclesfield last night.

And although official confirmation from the club is awaited, the Mirror is reporting that the deadline day signing may have suffered serious medial ligament issues.

It could be the one blight on a fabulous victory which shoved the Irons into the fourth round of the competition following a relentless display against the League Two side.

Sanchez was the final signing of a busy signing and joined the club at a fee of £4 million.

But has had a difficult settling in period and has since been fighting for a place in the team in the face of keen competition from Declan Rice, Mark Noble and Pedro Obiang.
