West Ham are reportedly looking to improve their defensive options at the end of the current campaign.

As per reports in France, the Hammers are eyeing up a move for defender Axel Disasi.

Sporting director Mark Noble has flown out to Monaco in order to establish a relationship with the French club ahead of a potential move for Disasi in the summer. As Simon Leyland mentioned in his article below, the former Hammers captain is hoping to forge strong links with the French club.

The imposing defender has historically been linked with a move to the Premier League as well and it will be interesting to see if The Irons can sign the hulking defender at the end of the season. The 24-year-old is also thought to be on the wish-list of Manchester United and Spurs.

Hammers manager David Moyes has had a number of injury problems at the heart of his defence this season and will want to add more depth to that area, should he retain his job. Disasi could be the ideal partner for his compatriot Kurt Zouma next season and also compliment an all French speaking back-line with Nayef Aguerd.

Disasi has played three times for the French national team and is thought to be valued at £40m.
