Report: Russian on Hammers radar

|

Russian website Sport Express claims that Spartak Moscow goalkeeper Aleksandr Maksimenko is on West Ham’s radar,

The 22-year-old has played 89 games for Spartak Moscow, letting in 104 goals and keeping 26 clean sheets in the process.

It is a strange link for transfer deadline day and perhaps one for the summer instead.

Goal keeper’s David Martin contract with the Hammers expires in the Summer with little chance of an extension.

Martin was on the bench last night with Darren Randolph currently out injured.

In  December last year  Fabianski admitted he is in contract talks to extend his contract which expires next summer.

He is ready to extend his stay at the London Stadium, with the player telling WeszloFM“Talks are ongoing. I’d like to stay at West Ham. Extend the contract because I feel good here.  I have to look at my son because he started school and I wouldn’t want to put him in a situation where he would have to change school every year. Here he finds himself well, here the climate favours him. I do not know [if the contract extension will be announced soon]. I don’t focus on it very much. I think we will come to an agreement quickly. There is a desire on both sides to extend the contract.”

Fabianski joined the Hammers from Swansea City for £7m in 2018 with the 35 year old has making 85 appearances for the club to date.
