Rice becomes Irish Young Player of the Year!

|

Irish Hammers may tonight be a tad upset that Declan Rice finds another honour resting on his shoulders – the FAI’s Young Player of the Year for 2018.

Dec, of course, recently switched his international allegiance from Ireland to England amid much controversy, firstly that he should have made such a choice and secondly that the rules which allowed it to happen .

However, with the jury  making their decision at a time when he was playing for Ireland, the honour will leave a sour taste in the mouths of many Irish.

They met at a time when the Hammers young star had been named Man of the Match at international level.

Declan has since admitted he had turned off his phone after making his international choice knowing that he was set to get a big backlash from some fans.

I assume Declan can decline the honour. Just tell them he’s English and it’s all been a huge mistake.
