On the same day as CandH ran a poll on the behaviour of Chicharito against Cardiff and Fulham, the Mexican striker has been telling the official website how the team should be performing and applying itself.
Under normal circumstances it might be worth listening but remembering his own performance in Wales which put him bang bottom of the fans’ rankings on the site with just over 2 per cent it becomes a little difficult to listen to such views.
It becomes even harder when one finds him pleading for consistency when his own performances have been anything but for most of two seasons.
But his recent diving and hand balling incidents against Cardiff and Fulham continue to stick in the gullet and so far are producing a massive response against his Hammers future in our poll @ https://www.claretandhugh.info/the-chicharito-poll-2/
Currently nearly 80 per cent want him to leave as a result and you can cast your vote at the above address before the poll closes later this evening.
Giving his view to www.whufc.com he said: “When you want to be in Europe, you need to think like the top clubs and need to have that consistency.
“You don’t need to think that if you are playing against teams who are fighting relegation that it will be a bit easier or that, if you’re playing against a top club you have nothing to lose.
“Those are the sort of traps you need to avoid and when you are a big club you don’t get involved with. You need to think and perform in the same way in every game so that, if you win, you are the best or if you lose, you are the worst.
“That mindset needs to change in this club and we need to do that between now and the end of the season and, if we can do that, we can still get seventh position.
“We need to have the motivation inside all of us that we want to be better players and want to win a spot in the starting eleven, because when you’re in a very good club you have 25 players but only eleven starters and everyone wants to play and wants to start.
Sometimes it’s best to start the preaching by addressing ourselves!
Yes , unbelievable article by Hernandez posted after his own inept display against Cardiff. Whoever decides which player is appropriate to quote at any given time needs his head examined too!….. clueless
Just pray Hernandez does not start against Huddersfield. Roll on next season, all change up front- no Marco, Perez Hernandez or Carroll. None will be missed.
I think that I have said this before (and to be fair the Bear does make a similar point) – I think that we are entitled to criticize Hernandez for his poor performances overall, for his dive and for his handball vs Fulham – but not for giving an interview to the Official website – that seems to be a duty (like signing autographs at the club shop)
But The Bear is right – let the website at least pick a player who put in a shift – or else one who was out injured e.g. the General
