Rice rubbish recycled

|

A report in the Daily Express that Chelsea recently offered two players in Declan Rice swap but West Ham reject bid and demand £80m is rubbish.

This is an old story recycled by the tabloid and there has been no offer to reject.

A report by the Daily Mail back in July claims Chelsea are willing to offer West Ham both Ross Barkley and Michy Batshuayi in a swap deal for Declan Rice this summer.

At the time Club insiders have dismissed the report repeating that Declan Rice is not for sale or swap and West Ham have no interest in Ross Barkley and/or Michy Batshuayi.

Barkley and Batshuayi who has rejected previous moves to the Hammers are not the type of player Moyes is looking to recruit.
Insiders continue to insist there has been no formal approach for their star player to date either in a form of an enquiry or a bid and they would reject one if it was received from Chelsea or anyone else.

  • Doomed I say, doomed says:

If I was a gambling man, I would stake my house on Rice being sold this summer with the statement ‘we had to sell him to balance the books’.
Moyes then being told there is still no money available unless you manage to sell anyone else.

Why does the club constantly shout about being in a financial hole & have a zero transfer fund? I haven’t read about any other PL club doing this, the pandemic seems to have only affected us as a club to this extent.
The fact is we have less than zero, if we don’t pay Frankfurt, I can see a transfer ban coming our way. A cynical person could put an arguement forward that this might be a ploy so no money can be spent.
Knowing that this is how we do business, how many clubs are going to want to sell us anyone anyway.
Over the hill 33+ year old free signings looking for a last payday, as per the norm, will be the players signed if we don’t get a ban.
