I don’t like Richard Keys – never have never will and that he was allegedly involved in an affair with his daughter’s friend at a time when his wife of 34 years is batling cancer – came as no surprise.
Last week the disgraced former Sky Sports commentator was busily taking a “told you so” bash at West Ham and explaining how sorry he felt for Sam Allardyce whom he claims has been a mate since he and Andy Gray were “tucked up by Sky.”
He added: “Look. I’m no different to anyone else. I don’t like foul play and if wrongs have been committed, let’s route (actually Richard the word you are hunting for is ‘root!’) But we need proof. I know all too well what it’s like to be the victim of smears.
Interesting words after his stricken wife Julia ditched him and commented: “It’s disgusting what Richard and Lucie have put me through knowing about my condition. It reallly is hard for me at the moment.”
Keys meanwhile trundles on with his never ending blogs – the last but one declaring:”What always disappointed me about the modern West Ham fan was how ungrateful he/she was to Big Sam. Hands up – Sam is a mate so of course I’ll defend him wherever and whenever I feel I have to.”
“He was hugely supportive of me and Andy when we were tucked up by Sky. Aren’t you supposed to be loyal to good friends?
Sam didn’t just save West Ham at the most needy point in their history, he first settled and then built the club back into a P Lge outfit. Bilic has never been shy of making that point. Sam made last season possible.
OK, I perhaps shouldn’t have wasted time on this but to talk about being LOYAL to friends is the height of hypocrisy after what he’s dome to his missus.

Well as Hugh said himself, he perhaps shouldn’t have wasted time on this non-story… but to ban someone because they can’t bear criticism of any sort and call them a trouble maker is the action of a cry baby, Hugh should know better at his age!
