Rodgers perfect for the Hammers

|

So that’s an end to the claim from the Hammers board that there are no managers out there capable of taking over at the Hammers.

Both Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter have been fired from Leicester City and Chelsea respectively today – the Stamford Bridge boss after just seven months in the job.

Of the two Rodgers would be a no brainer for the Irons having shown himself as a top boss during his six club managerial career which has included Liverpool, Celtic and now of course the Foxes.

He enjoyed great spells on Merseyside and in Scotland playing a brand of football which falls very much in line with the traditional West Ham Way over his four seasons in charge at Anfield.

He left to manage Celtic where he enjoyed incredible success before moving to Leicester City where in his first season he guided them to fifth place and a qualifying spot in theĀ UEFA Europa League group stage.

They also won the FA Cup a season later before eventually suffering the problems of 22/23 which have today seen him sacked.

He’ll do for me!

I’m all for getting Potter or, like you Hugh, Rodgers at The LS, in fact anyone who didn’t advocate the awful, tiresome back and side passing instead of going forward. We should have taken Southampton apart instead of just getting in one fractionally onside header. How come everyone else has seen the light and still we have to.put up with the past his best Scot. Newcastle will no doubt bring us back to earth on Wednesday with their great brand of attacking football, even without Callim Wilson’s cheating

I see where you are going with that, Rogers does tick some boxes for sure.
I can’t say I warm to him, he comes across as a bit arrogant and has proved to have a good track record in initial 2 seasons before a noticeable decline. (Oh and IIRC, he did throw shade on West Ham job in the past)

Potter will need time to build a squad, he wasn’t able to bring together the High-cost Stars of the Chelsea Soccerballers into anything that looked like a team, but then again who could?

    Anyone but Benitez, please
