Romano drops major Rice update

|

Fabrizio Romano insists that there is “nothing” going on in Manchester United’s pursuit of Declan Rice.

The Red Devils have consistently been linked with a potential swoop to sign the England international in the summer.

That speculation has kicked into a higher gear after there were reports that United had settled on appointing Erik Ten Hag as their new manager.

Rice would cost a fortune, though, and we have consistently reported that there has yet to be an offer from a single interested party for the defensive midfielder.

Romano has now backed up that reporting by claiming that there are no talks or negotiations going on between the two clubs.

Speaking on Five’s YouTube channel, Romano said“I see some names at the moment, from what I’m told, are not something concrete like Declan Rice who’s has always been top of the list for Man United but there is no negotiation, there is nothing going on with West Ham.

“So at the moment, we can’t say that they’re negotiating with Declan Rice, he’s always been top of the list but at the moment, also after what David Moyes said a few days ago, it’s not going to be easy.”

Declan remains happy at West Ham and there is still confidence that he will remain at the club, due to his high asking price and the fact that his contract still has many years to run.
