Sam pleased with Zarate

Zarate actionSam Allardyce couldn’t stop singing the praises of Stewart Downing in his post match presser declaring that the converted winger is making everything happen in the new diamond formation.

He said: “His role in the diamond is absolutely vital. He’s doing so well.”

He claimed however that Queens Park Rangers will struggle this season if they can’t find a real goal scoring striker.

He said: ” I think we may have found two. Sakho is scoring and I hope Enner Valencia will do so as well.”

The manager was also pleased with Mauro Zarate saying that he’s a more mature player now than in the past.

He said: “He played very well and made an impact.”

Another superb performance by downing, long wide balls, slide rule pinpoint passing, like a new signing.I had my doubts when he first arrived, but he is a confidence player,a good bit of man management me thinks.Since we bought him he has gone from strength to strength. C.O.Y.I.

It’s funny but I thought Stewart Downing had his least effective game for a while – he seemed to be sticking to the left rather than pushing through the midfield as he’s done recently.

Zarate on the other hand had a really good game – looking much fitter – working much harder – a good display, I was a bit surprised he didn’t get MOM.
