Sam: Sakho near certain for Villa clash

|

Sakho whamactionSam Allardyce is pretty well convinced Diafra Sakho will return for the match against Aston Villa.

And for the manager to mention it as this stage of the week means it’s 100 per cent certain given his usual natural caution in such matters.

Talking to the official site this morning he said: “We think Sakho will be back for the next game. We don’t think the shoulder is going to be too long. “It’s a cartilage problem so it’s bruised and the pain is still pretty tender but it’s getting better every day and hopefully he’ll be back for Aston Villa. If not, we have to cope with it and after that it’s the international break.

“The good thing is the goals are getting shared about the team. The goals we scored against Stoke were not gifts, they had to be quality and both were top quality.

“Even when we’ve got that quality when we’re not as good as the opposition, we’ve always got a goal threat. That changes games and it certainly changed the game against Stoke.”
