Saudis ready to make mega bid for Hammer

Huge bid for Hammer being prepared by mega rich Saudi club

Two transfer insider heavyweights are today reporting that Nayef Aguerd is subject to interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth and Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano are both reporting interest in West Ham’s Moroccan defender. This coincides with news that West Ham would accept bids for Aguerd in the event the fee exceeded the £30M transfer fee paid by the Hammers.

Aguerd is currently on international duty in the African Cup of Nations but is said to be aware of the interest in him. However, it is worth noting that Romano said on his Twitter (X) feed that the central defender was happy in the Premier League.

Mega bid for Hammer Aguerd is expected from Saudi Arabia.

Transfer ITK Romano also reported that the West Ham hierarchy had already rejected bids from Serie A sides Roma and AC Milan. However, the interest was believed to be only loan deals. Whilst no specific Saudi side has been mentioned, Al Ittihad tried to sign Aguerd in the summer, so it’s safe to assume they’re back again with serious intent. The same side is rumoured to be lining up a £160m deal for Mo Salah from Liverpool in the summer window.

To add extra intrigue to an already complex situation, it is understood that Liverpool was planning on using some of the Salah funds to make a bid for Aguerd next summer.
