Season ticket renewals better than expected

|

Season ticket renewals doing better than expected this season and the club is predicting an 87%/88% renewal rate when the 1st June deadline comes.

One of the reasons for the surprise is it is also the first year that around 7,000 Band 5 adults ยฃ289 adults) have been asked to renew. The supporters were required to sign up for 2 years in advance without seeing the actual stadium so this is the first time they are being asked to renew.

With an 88% renewal rate, it is estimated that over 6,000 supporters on 48,000 strong Season ticket waiting list will be given an opportunity in June to get a London Stadium eason ticket. Many that have been on the 10-pound list for two years were emailed over the weekend and asked to state their preferences for the band of London Stadium seat they want to purchase.

Current season ticket holders have until 5pm Friday 1st June to renew or risk losing their seat for next season.

I would like to say its a surprise Sean all of these supporters that complain about the so called soullless bowl yet can’t get their money out quick enough when it comes to renewing it seems, again next year we will hear the same people complaining but not voting with their feet.

We are a captive audience i’m afraid. Because we renew it doesn’t make everything hunky dory. But where else can we go to watch West Ham play?

  • What else are we going to do every other Saturday?

Dagenham and Redbridge is ripe for a takeover call it the real West Ham maybe ? I am only joking of course ๐Ÿ˜€

Wish it was every other Saturday Sean. Not Sunday. Not Monday night. Not any other day at all.

Lol no mate, my experience at the matches is the same as Legin’s below, I have literally sat in most parts of the stadium and it is only behind the goals and a couple of stands like the 114 etc I heard much dissent, sure there was plenty at the start about the security etc but since all that died down I don’t hear too much grumbling, my cheeky comment was more aimed about all these surveys that says 50/60/70 % not renewing etc, the first season I half believed it but now we know its a crock we have the best renewal rate in the PL…

  • Legin says:

Is this a surprise? I don’t think so. Most of the West Ham websites and twitter feeds are representing the views of a minority of dissatisfied and vocal supporters. I suggest they do not represent the views of the majority.

I took a mate of mine, a neutral, to some matches this year, he liked the stadium thought the atmosphere was good but the football crap. So the West Ham I have been watching since 1984 then!

Do the maths 20,000 additional fans are now able to watch their team for a reasonable cost, add in those who may not be delighted with the new set-up but recognise that in the long term it should be for the best for the club, then you’ve suddenly got a significant majority of fans who will renew and will not be constantly moaning about change.

For many people change is hard and this is demonstrably so for a number of our fans. This has also been stoked by the various media outlets who have had a feeding frenzy on the issues surrounding the London Stadium. People like me come to football to get away from the crap and sh*t of everyday life and while I will never disagree with the right to protest, protesting for protesting sake doesn’t work for me.
