Serie A Club feel ripped off by Hammers transfer

|

Torino may be second-guessing their decision to secure Nikola Vlasic on a permanent transfer from West Ham United last summer, as his performance this season has fallen short of expectations.

According to Torino Granata, which has been closely monitoring the player, Vlasic needs to make a significant impact in the remaining games after a lacklustre season.

They note that the Croatian is one of the most expensive and highest-paid players in the Torino squad, having been acquired from West Ham for €9.5 million and given a contract worth €1.7 million net annually until 2027.

Vlasic has flopped at two consecutive clubs which begs the question of why he was signed in the first place

Despite the high hopes, Vlasic has struggled to live up to the financial investment. He has only sporadically influenced games for Ivan Juric’s team this season. Although Juric has shown unwavering support for his fellow Croatian, Vlasic has yet to repay that faith with strong performances, contributing just three goals and two assists so far this season.

Meanwhile, West Ham, who initially invested £27 million in Vlasic, might feel some relief, considering he was largely out of favour and underappreciated by manager David Moyes during his time at the club.
