Should this player be sold? Fans react

|

Pedro Obiang looks to be very much on the list of those players for whom the Hammers will listen to bids.

His chances have been limited this season but with the club now qualified for the Europa League should he really be allowed to leave given the squad strength that will be required.

ClaretandHugh Facebook members have been giving their views.

ObiangO To be fair he wasn’t used and didn’t seem to do that much

O Really poor if West Ham let him go. Solid in the middle when he played rather that charging forward and leaving the back four exposed he give a much needed line of defence..

Pedro is quality. When he gets a run in the team he will show it. We need four in that position – Nordveit, Nobes, Cheik and Pedro. Especially if we get Europa league

Bad move to let him go. If we are playing in four competitions next season then we need him.

O Bilic needs to rotate a little more and give Nobes a rest now and then.

O I’d b gutted if he goes I watched him at Sampdoria really good player not had much of a chance

Keep him unfortunately Kouyate and Noble was so good this season. Song couldn’t get a look in either

O For me, good enough to be a first choice player, but not better than Noble or Kouyate. Keep him…

O I’s a sign of the times I suppose that players who get limited opportunities have to be more than solid and outstandingly better than who they are replacing in order to cement their own place. I think Pedro has suffered from that.

O Going to need players of his quality to stay if we get Europa League football with all the extra games

O Think it will be a shame if he goes. If we want to start to aim for top 4/6 on a regular basis we need a larger squad. Thought he was a very useful squad player and could be very valuable if injuries hit us again.

    A lovely article Hugh!
I agree that we need to have him as a squad player, if he is happy about this.
We definitely will need decent squad depth.
For much the same reason, we should also hang onto Alex Song & Enner Valencia.

A sad day for WHU if the muppets sell him.

A sad day for WHU if the muppets sell him??
Bit overboard,he is hardly the crown jewels of the team is he.

Definitely a player to keep and use more

Pedro will get many more games next season. Also we were very lucky last year in that none of our top midfielders missed many games with injuries. Don’t want to tempt fate but how much longer can that last? He has looked good whenever he has appeared and brings a different dimension to our defending.KEEP. If possible.

I rate him as a player but I will judge the transfer window at the end of the summer.Players may move on like Obiang but let’s see how it all balances out come the end of the transfer window when other targets move in.I have developed a faith in our transfer dealings over the last couple of seasons so this doesn’t worry me too much.

I would of kept him but now we are in the Euro’s we have to keep him. Crazy to let a player of this quality go. He will get more game time this year that is for sure. Keep Keep Keep.

If he ain’t happy let him go.None of us know the situation, none of us know the plans we have to replace him.We have Norveidt arriving already & dont know who else could be coming in.Every summer we have the same scenario, players may move & we want to keep them, but by September,October nobody remembers them.Last summer was Downing, outcry by some that he could be leaving, who actually missed him once other transfers had been concluded. No one I would suggest.

Double edged sword imo, to take the next few steps the club needs a stronger squad with players of equal abilities with success on the field we obviously play more games. We can only name a certain amount of players for the PL (please correct me if wrong, we can have have as many youngster as we like) & EL so some will need to leave to make room for new.

  • Hammerman6 says:

    Simple answer NO

  • Gobby says:

Depends if he is happy only playing occasionally or in the EL matches. He isnt going to replace Kouyate,Nobes in the team as it stands & we have Norveidt arriving.if he aint happy let him move on.We can’t keep everyone or ask the PL to let us have dispensation for a 40 man PL squad instead of 25.Really isnt a big deal as far as I see it.

  • mattefumi27 says:

My answer is NO, I like him, but it’ll depends on the Wetties… if they consider him necessary he has to stay, otherwise he’ll have to do his packing… I don’t know what game plan the experts will use next year… work in progress. lol 😀

They have other things on their minds I believe Matt. They are up in arms about items being sold in the auction that they probably never knew existed in the first place lmao. That lot are too f#ckin serious the way I see it.

      • mattefumi27 says:

lmao.. they are the royal guards of the Boleyn items, they have catalogued over 3.000 items and they prepared an additional report communicated to Queen Elizabeth… hahha 😉

        • StanThe Man says:

Lol Matte, they make laugh.Eveything to do with supporting West Ham United is one big dilemma & headache for them.Team selections, formations, transfers, move to the OS & now the auction. It is all one big headache for some of them.Send them paracetamols & a bed to lay down on lol

          • Billy the Hammer says:

They are full of ****.Always got some f#cking cause to give it large about.Same snotbags who spent about a week bemoaning how the ladies team were treated, waving the ladies team banner then forget all about them. Now the bellends are whining about historic items which they will do for a day or two then move on to their next great West Ham cause.Sh#theads 😉
