Southend United are interested in signing left-back Stephen Hendrie on loan from West Ham claim the Southend Echo.
The Shrimpers are keen to bring in a replacement for the injured Ben Coker and have identified the young Hammer as one of their main targets. Hendrie made 117 appearances for Hamilton Academical before joining West Ham in a £1million deal in July 2015.
Dundee FC have also been linked for a loan move for the 2o-year-old earlier this month.
ClaretandHugh’s regular senior source previously told us: “Hendrie needs games and might be loaned out, he is on a VERY low wage.”
The Scottish youth international left back has not been getting first-team football this season with Aaron Cresswell the first choice left back. When Cresswell was briefly injured both Carl Jenkinson and James Tomkins filled in the left back role.
