Slav and boys find the Anfield answers

Liverpool 2 Irons 2

Payet & NobleYou wanna talk about intensity – they were intense!

You wanna talk about about guts and passions – they had both!

You wanna talk about whether the manager should be sacked…no of course not because this performance showed that every single player on the pitch was ready to sweat blood for the cause.

We all knew we needed to have a massive response  after the horrors of last weekend and boy did we get it with a team which on paper looked to have no chance.

Slaven chose to leave Carroll and Fletcher on the bench Antonio through the middle with Nortveidt coming in at right back.

But when we went a goal down to Adam Lallana within five minutes it looked like another horrible day was on the cards.

michail-antonio-west-ham-stoke_3387473But on this day we were watching a different West Ham and Dimi Payet pulled us level with a free kick before Antonio put us ahead via a cute pass from Nortveidt.

We got amongst ’em and really chased for everything with even Payet chasing and tackling. It was a performance as different as you could get from last week.

Darren Randolph managed to drop a ball to the feet of Origi three minutes into the second half for their equaliser and after that it was all hands to the pump as Liverpool’s attacking waves threatened to engulf us.

But some great defending and no holds barred midfield battling showed there’s no lack of intensity from these Irons and at the end every one of them could hold their heads up high .

Well done to every one of them and at the end of this 90 minutes we were out of the bottom three…well done to the boss too who came up with the answers after a week from hell!

We finally showed some metal .
Carroll is obviously a handful , and Liverpool were for a moment disoriented .
Well done you Hammers . Hard to blame a goalkeeper in 2 2 draw away to Liverpool .
Maybe , just maybe we are on the road to recovery .
Hope so , because if not ???
