Slav keeps his stadium pledge

|

slav4Slaven Bilic has taken the Irons squad to the London Stadium for training as they strive to “adjust” to their new surroundings.

The manager revealed a few weeks ago this was the plan and has now put it in place as the lads attempt to familiarise themselves with the stadium.

Speaking to the Mirror, he said: “It is going to be an unbelievable home for West Ham. It was the same for Schalke, Arsenal and other clubs when they moved, because it is so open, you have the running track and your feeling is that everything is big.

“It is totally different to Upton Park, where everything was so close. We need time to adjust, and that is why we are training there. Not every day, but that will help and our performances will speed up that period. The last four home games, we had two wins and two draws.

“Last year [in the first four home league games], we lost to Bournemouth and Leicester, beat Newcastle and drew with Norwich.”
