Barcelona loanee Alex Song has penned a farewell blog for the club’s official website in which he appears to hint he will say goodbye to everyone. He also apologised because the team didn’t do what was expected of them.
“I am very happy with the way things have gone at West Ham, especially with the fans, because of the way they have always welcomed me. I will never forget that, and that’s why I will do my best in this game and finish well and then say ‘Goodbye’ to everyone.” he told WHUFC.com
“You never know what might happen, but it has been a pleasure for me to be here and wear this shirt. I will always have a part of my heart in West Ham because I have enjoyed my time here a lot, with the way the fans have been behind me.
“I am sorry because we maybe didn’t do what they expected of us this season. We started playing so well that they wanted more. I always said it would be difficult because we don’t have a big squad, so I know from my time at Arsenal and Barcelona that, when you want to win, the squad has to have 25 players.
“If you have this and two or three players are injured, you can replace with the same quality. I am not saying we don’t have quality, but when you want to look to finish in the top four, you have to have a very big squad and very good quality of players.
“In West Ham we have very good players, but we don’t have the squad to fight for this with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea or the Manchester clubs. That’s why we have dropped many points.
“When you are not playing every game like we did with high intensity at the top level, it’s not easy to reach 100 per cent in every single game. Hopefully West Ham will manage to do even better next season. I will always look here to see how West Ham are doing.”
He didn’t always play his best but my word when he did he was quality and has the dignity to show compassion with the fans and to apologise,good luck to him it was fun at the beginning.
Have to admit for a split second I thought the headline was Sam says sorry and goodbye,think I need a lie down,he definitely won’t apologise and I doubt he’ll say goodbye.
I doubt FS will apologise Quickdraw, hasn`t even got the decency to attend the showdown talks, over his future at our wonderful club… shows you the man`s arrogance!
True enough his arrogance has no limits he’s a multi millionaire so he could’ve attended and been in Spain on a private jet a couple of hours later. I just hope we’re not going to be conned on Monday
Shame to see him go in a way.He looked the real deal early doors.Then hippo bought Nolan back in,the whole midfield blew a fuse.Downing wasnt in front of Song in the diamond,Nolan there instead.Even someone of Songs calibre cant carry Nolan & to an extent Noble.He started p!aying around with the ball or giving it away often because he had no bugger to give it too,unless he wanted to launch it to downing on the wing or the dynamic Nolan.It all went tits up when Nolan & Carroll came back.End of story!

He had no reason to say sorry,he can only be guided by the manager where and how he wanted him to play he never gave less than 100% but you can’t carry a midfield with Nolan in it every game,
He has made it clear though he ain’t coming back

Gutted we aren’t going to sign him, on day or off day he’s still a class act with the right people around him.. Seriously losing out on this one. His consistency might have dropped but as Baz said.. What do you mean he gave a 100% I’m not sure about that and I do watch all the games. He was good for the 1st 10 games then hung on to the good performances for another 5 or so games. Tell me the last game he was the ******** and I know your going to say it’s down to the manager and yes your right when you look at the season as a whole. But on the same breath you have a look at his pass completion and then you look at the determination on the pitch! Players like song on 60 70 80 grand a week whatever he is on, playing for club should be pulling there finger out ffs it makes me laugh. Sams obviously going so the players should be looking to play with the hearts tomorrow and not listen to Sams bull. But we will see, I gave up holding my breath a long time ago.
