Song: “We are like a family in the dressing room”

alex-song-west-hamStewart Downing reckons the Hammers are heading for a top ten season “and perhaps even better” if they can maintain their current consistency.

Downing has been a revelation this season and after the victory over Queens Park Rangers said: “I’m enjoying the new position and we can look at tenth or better if we continue consistently.”

His current form looks to be giving him a real chance of an international recall but the 30 year old isn’t at all sure about that.

He said: “I’ve always said I’d love to play for my country again but realistically I don’t think it’s going to happen.

“We can get even better when the injured players come back and I think the international break has come at the right time for us.”

Alex Song meanwhile has revealed why the new signing have settled into life so well at Upton Park.

He said: “Everybody has been so welcoming to us in the dressing room – we are like a family.

“It was great to win again today because we should have had something from Manchester last week.”
