Sorry Mr Moyes we still have a way to go says Hughie Southon
Sorry Mr Moyes we still have a way to go and we need to remember this was Burnley after all! Ok,-we won but sorry I’m not convinced by this Hammers team as things stand and but for Mohammed Kudus things could have turned out a whole lot differently against a poor side.I was incredibly excited when it became clear that the Ghana international was on his way to the Hammers as he has been known to be a very fine footballer for two or three years. And my goodness how we needed his incredibly quick feet today as he beat four defenders to set up the first assist and sensational cross for Soucek’s winner we have – thanks to technical director Tim Steidten – inherited one hell of a footballer.
And by the way let’s hear no more nonsense about Soucek not being up to it – nine goals from 18 club and international appearances says it all. Even the best of our squad were making near fatal errors today – Paqueta proving lax on a ball which might have given the home side an early lead and Kudus giving away the penalty.
I thought Aguerd was a disappointment, James Ward-Prowse didn’t give us much and maybe teams are working on defending set pieces when we are the opponents. Coufal wasn’t himself and Zouma neither, missing a couple of chances. In between times there was still that sloppy passing and the lack of energy we have become used to and without Jarrod Bowen chances will always be hard to create.
