Spurs snub to West Ham

|

Spurs have downgraded West Ham’s clash to a category B game for the new season at their new as yet unnamed stadium putting it at the same level of importance as the visit of Brighton and Hove Albion.

Categories usually define the price for general admission tickets for home areas based on demand with category A tickets the most expensive for supporters.

In past seasons the Spurs v West Ham game has always been priced as category A so the news is somewhat of a surprise.

The re-categorisation makes no difference to West Ham away fans with the away ticket price still fixed at £30 for all games no matter what the category is but Hammers fans will nevertheless feel like it is a snub to the Irons.

Last season West Ham became the first team to beat Spurs at their new stadium when Michail Antonio scored on the 67th minute to make it 1-0 at full time on 27th April.

The attendance for that game was 60,043. The capacity of the new stadium is supposed to be 62,062 but the record attendance set so far is 60,243 vs. Ajax (30 April 2019, UEFA Champions League)

Just another playground tactic by the Spuds just makes it cheaper for them to have at least 1sell out game at the Am Shanks Bowl sorry White Hart Lane.

  • Jh says:

It just proves we do bother them its basically saying we are small time compared to them and they just see us as a small club so are telling their fans that.they pretend we dont bother them but we so do. it killed 99% of them we first to win there last season and they know we wont let them forget it. Until they win something they will ALWAYS be the chokers .for years they have taken the p#ss out of Arsenal but they have turned into arsenal because they now celebrate getting into champions league as if its a trophy.as always delusional. If they put us on a level with Brighton etc,it’ll be more embarrassing when we beat them again.Who really gives a flying …… what Spuds do or think anyway.

  • Danny Davis says:

Unfortunately Spurs are on a different level to West Ham now and the gap will continue to grow at least for a long while and doesnt look like will close for anytime sooner either. They just broke their own transfer record and collected 2 more quality young talents also on the verge of completing deals for Ceballos ,Lo Celso and Sessegnon. They are as a Club will not focus on a local rivalry but bigger and better things instead. But still Downgrading West Ham game to Category B will not stop both sets of fans on the day that’s what really matters at the end of the day.

Such a sad club. I see it as getting cheaper tickets so less money goes into Daniel Levy’s pocket. Who are the real losers?

  • Barry Beard says:

Does not really matter so spurs trying to wind the whu fans up,most probably the real reason is they will never fill it up so by making it a b game,it will make their attendances for b games look better.,A OR B GAME THE IRONS WILL STILL BEAT TGEM.

Danny Davis. Spot on, unfortunately we can only envy what they have done. Their chairman compared to the muppets running our club has got it spot on as much as it pains me to say it. And I can only see them pulling even further away. Our immediate focus is catching wolves and Everton. We are so far off the top 6 it’s embarrasing. As for laughing at them not selling out their ground. At least they fill with real fans. The amount of tourists I see on match day at our gaff is shocking.

You have to be somebody living on the edge of a meltdown to actually care about this news.

Sadly, we’re nowhere near them so we can only hope we beat them home and away for a laugh.

  • LJ says:

Er..do you not think spurs arsenal chelsea man utd don’t get tourist fans as well ? Would you not go to a game at barca or real Madrid if visiting ?
Just another consequence of big money and sky have brought to the game
