Squad show support for Noble

|

Several members of the West Ham squad have shown support for skipper Mark Noble’s social media rant about the departure of Grady Diangana

Declan Rice retweeted the captain’s Twitter post before changing his mind and later deleting it while striker Sebastian Haller and defender Issa Diop have since re-tweeted it.

At 9.13 pm yesterday evening the Skipper posted ‘As captain of this football club I’m gutted, angry and sad that Grady has left, great kid with a great future!!!!!’

Grady took to social media himself to thank everyone at West Ham saying “I would like to say Thank You to everyone at West Ham who have helped me develop and become the player and person I am today, since the age of 10. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to be able to represent such a great club! Than you to the fans for supporting me along the way, you will always have a special place in my heart. Love and peace. God bless”

Jack Wilshere added his own social media in reply to Grady saying he would be better off at a club that respected him by posting “Go and do your thing in a  club that respects you, big player with a  big future”

At 8.50 pm last night West Ham confirmed the departure of Grady Diangana in an £18m transfer to West Bromwich Albion promising to re-invest the entire money in strengthening the team.

The Hammers yesterday slapped in a £27m bid for England and Burnley Centre back James Tarkowski using the money £26m recouped by selling Diangana, Jordon Hugill and Albian Ajeti.

Perhaps certain players in the squad would be better off getting fit, working on their own game and leaving the coaching and assessing of other players to those more knowledgeable about such matters. If Terry Westley, who does know his football, says he is “not sure” about a player I am more inclined to take notice of him than Wilshere, Masuaku etc. We all know players have to move on to strengthen the squad overall. Whatever the actual fee received for Diangana is, as long as it is invested in the squad, it was probably too much to turn down for somebody who would have been just a squad player for the foreseeable future.

  • Well said Mr Noble
    GSB have absolutely no shame
Been following WHU since the Cairns & every change of owners is the same, “No longer a selling club letting our best players go” but the club always sell on the better players due to their sale value whilst holding onto the players we overpaid for (either in fees or wages) that no-one else wants, there is always a reason no-one else wants them

  • Tom Smith says:

Selling Diangana doesn’t gel with Mr Moyes’ desire to bring in young players and promote those from our Academy.
This just illustrates that our first team players, other than Declan, don’t appeal to other clubs. OK, a Turkish club expressed an interest in
Lanzini and Arsenal maybe want to
    take Anderson on loan.
Please may we have a change of owners sometime soon? Somebody, anybody who actually care?

  • Craig Benee says:

Upsetting your players and fans with one short sighted decision is pretty special even for our owners

I have with great regret closed down all twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages concerning west ham, I have not renewed my season ticket and won’t be till curly mo and Larry are gone

The question I ask myself is how bad is it behind the scenes that Nobes feels that he has to views his feelings publicly.
I would normally prefer dirty washing is aired behind closed doors (or whatever the phrase is) but in coming out in the way he has feels like he has had enough of GSB – this from a man who was a staunch defender for much of their time as owners. This loyalty has clearly waned in the last 1-2 years and makes we wonder whether he is seeking to add to the pressure of GSBOUT.
He may not be the player he was as age catches up with him but he remains a top club captain and a devoted fan so if he feels as he does then it is a real worry as to what is going on behind the scenes.

Wow it all seems to be aimed at GSB and rightly so we are a laughing stock . When players speak out there’s something wrong plus DM is a yes man he oils have said I don’t want to sell him. Toxic the owners need to sell up.

  • Tim Boughen says:

Surprised that C and H described Noble’s comments as a “Rant” . I thought it was considered and concise . The opposite of a rant.
