Stadium violence – your views

West Ham’s name is being dragged through the mud again.
The issues inside the Olympic Stadium grow from game to game and here members of the ClaretandHugh Facebook Group @https://www.facebook.com/groups/363174467150521/  have their say.
_91107927_westham_gettyO Not allowing the police in the stadium is a joke, no one listens to stewards. there has to be a problem before police are given permission to enter stadium. preventions always been better than cure
O Agree totally. The fans causing the trouble also need to take responsibility for their actions and grow up! Why is it you can sit next to an opposing fan at a rugby match, be passionate, have some banter and shake their hand at the end of the game.
I predicted this weeks ago, but the two Daves were more concerned with the ‘standing up’ issue (also a problem). I think they just crossed their fingers and hoped that things would work out.
O I thinkhat the standing issue became ‘the straw that broke the camels back’. Shows how badly the stewarding is, but sadly shows how we have brought that unwanted element to the new ground.
O This safe standing is causing to much trouble to an already poorly run exercise, the fact which annoys is people are happy to stand regardless of the people around, not caring how there enjoyment is impeded as long as they can stand, like it’s almost there right to stand!!!! It’s this selfish attitude that’s ruining everything in society and we are now seeing it here. This isn’t going to end well
O The respect has gone at the moment. The hatred of the stadium has created contempt amongst our own fans. The attitude of snall number of ‘fans’ stank yesterday and the moody atmosphere was increased by what happened on the pitch.
O Don’t think it’s a hatred of the stadium-that attitude was there before they even saw what the stadium would be like! They were going to cause trouble-whatever excuse they found. They seem to think that if there is enough trouble we will move back!

O Time to understand this is about the operators Pl and whufc. Not one of but all. If you rent you obey rules for God’s sake
O I really don’t think some fans understand that and I wonder if the club really made that clear from the start, not condoning any of the poor behaviour by the way
O It needs sorting before it becomes a crisis. Some may say it already is.
O I just read this quote by Warren Buffet on Richard Branson’s FB page: “It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently”
O What worries me is if the stewarding is this poor how the hell are they gonna deal if god forbid a terrorist turns up
O Why can’t they get in their thick heads it isn’t our ground to do what we want with. Just all sit down and then push forward for safe standing . Altho this will never happen as it has to revert back to an atheletics stadium as early as next year . World athletics July and August of next year !.
O I agree there are a bunch of idiots who will always act this way but the level of stewarding has been shocking. They’ve been provocative with standing fans and the segregation is embarrassing. Saying this – fully grown adults should behave better and it’s an embarrassment .
O Segregation can be resolved you would think. I’m typing this and I realise I actually have no idea where the away fans go in or come out! We walk all round the stadium and there’s no indication that there’s an ‘away end’.
O Plenty of level-headed comment on here . Trouble is here we are preaching to the converted. It’s the mindless minority that needs to be address. I’m sorry to say I don’t think any amount of reasoning will change them or their self-centered attitudes.
O  I just want to say that I was not happy with that performance (and result) yesterday BUT I am ashamed to be a West Ham supporter at the moment! I am ashamed to be associated with the ‘fans’ that are calling for Gold and Sullivan to quit the club on Twitter.
O I am very close to closing my Twitter account. Scum of the earth comments. Feel the same.

I was aware of three incidents from where I was sat yesterday, nothing like a major scene of all out hooliganism seen at the Euros recently.
More like a few men over reacting badly and being overly macho to prove a point, whatever that is!
I saw a mother take her child away from a fracas that was close by, but I’ve seen worst on the first day of the Harrods sale amongst over zealous shoppers to be fair. Just sayin!

I saw some worse DJ these incidents are relatively small but can you imagine what will happen when Tottenham come ? Could be hundreds or more involved with two sets of fired up supporters, I wasn’t aware people on Twitter had told the Dave’s to go… There really are some moronic people out there, it is a thankless task running a football club and there is little profit in it, new deal or not it’s the players and agents that profit from the extra money.

There seemed to be several incidents in different areas of the ground. Some of these thugs appear to want to be seen as heroes by being ejected. Something needs to be done quickly though, it really is making it unpleasant for some people and yet again the name of West Ham United is being dragged through the mud

Storm in a teacup . Couple of minor scuffles has been turned into outright war by some over the top reports . There was always something waiting to happen . Fans are too far away from the action and standing up is a natural human instinct in an attempt to get closer in the minds eye . This new ” home ” of ours is going to take a lot of getting used to , not just for the fans but also by the players . In fact the players are getting the worse of it because they have to play without the close felt atmosphere that helps them through a game . I’m not building up an excuse for poor home performances, but it is a serious consideration.
Anyway we better sort it out soon because every visiting team comes to the LS as if it were a cup final . Too early to talk of doom and gloom though . Personally I wouldn’t ban anyone
Because of frustration caused by bad visibility in a stadium that wasn’t designed for football.

Come on Kevin there are football grounds all round the world with the fans with running tracks between them & the action, there isn’t scraps going on all over the place though.Using a stadium that isn’t built for football reasoning has nothing to do with these moronic fans without a thoughtful brain cell in their tiny minds..
