West Ham’s most exciting player left the club this summer for a huge £60 million transfer fee and an outrageous personal salary reputed to be in the region of twelve million pounds a year.
I’M NOT blaming Crysencio Summerville for one second, you understand, swapping the sold out London Stadium’s 60,000 arena for what is essentially an half built, mostly deserted football ground adjacent to a car park. For that money most of us would pick up fag butts in our teeth from the players’ car park, wearing only a leopard skin mankini.(Or is that just me?)
But the video doing the rounds showing Summerville -doing what he does best and scoring for his new team Al-Hilal- is more a sad reflection of his reality these days compared with what he could have had as a player breaking into the international arena and with Premier League clubs seemingly queueing up for his signature.

To his credit he snubbed a move to Spurs but in any case has more than doubled the PL’s top money by moving to Dubai – but the lack of celebration and even the trademark smile after shimmying past four players and side footing home past the keeper was just sad to see.
Wonder how long he’ll stick it out before, like so many others from European leagues, he’s demanding a loan move.
Sad state of affairs indeed.
Summerville increased his gross income over 500% with this move (Plus his leaving/signing bonus). His £12mil. per season will set him up for life, fair play to him!
But would I wear a Mankini for that sort of cash?
Given this is a pre-season game against Qatari side Al-Ahli in Austria, it doesn’t surprise me that he isn’t especially excited (the signs behind the goal in German might have provided a clue to where the game was being played). Al-Hilal’s stadium actually holds 26,000 and has a retractable roof.
Although it may well be that he eventually decides that he wants a return to Europe, let’s give the boy a chance to play in some actual competitive fixtures for his new club first.
I don’t know about you, but most people go to work to earn money.
he’s signed a contract that puts him and his family in a position that they are all safe and may never have to work again.
he can do it for 36 months, put £40m in his sky, then choose what’s next.
he also may enjoy living in a country where he’s not worried about getting mugged, stabbed and taxed to oblivion.

Al Hilal is a Saudi team not a UAE team you twonk.
It’s been reported in the past that Summerville is a religious man. I didn’t realise, though, that his religion is the Almighty Dollar.
If he takes care of his halalas when in Saudi Arabia then his riyals will take care of themselves.
