Stats show Hammers stadium woes are behind them

|

There’s been much debate on whether this has been a successful season or not on CandH and other websites and social media.

A possible top ten finish seemed to be the parameter on which that would finally be judged but the stats seem to confirm that there’s little doubt Manuel Pellegrini can indeed count it a very decent season at the London Stadium at least.

For www.whufc.com points out that – that the Hammers have improved their home record in each of their three seasons in Stratford, collecting 25 points in 2016/17, 27 in 2017/18 and beating that by collecting 31 points in 2018/19.

It may be small comfort for many who were expecting an emphatic top ten finish this term but confirms to many that things are most definitely improving.

Certainly we have suffered travel sickness – notably since the turn of the year – but the days when we could blame to stadium for our our woes seem to be well and truly behind us.

Given that we lost our three of our first five games at the stadium this term the points return really is something of which the boss and squad can be proud with 27 points collected from the final 14 games.

From the 4-2 win over Burnley on 3 November onwards, the Hammers have won eight top-flight fixtures, drawn three and lost on three occasions, scoring 28 goals at an average of two per game.

31 out of 57 shows there is significant room for improvement we should be able to get closer to 40, its good for us to see much improved performances and we have been robbed in a couple of games, hopefully the trend will improve next year and we will add more away points also.
