David Moyes appears to have gone out of his way to assure the fans that he is ready to bring in creative players to the club after gaining a reputation for being too defensive.
And he is doing to in a manner which had exciting Mohammad Kudus questioning whether he should join the Hammers from Ajax.
For in Lucas Paqueta we have such a magical operator that Kudus is reported to have had worries about his playing time in the first team as a result of the Brazilian now being a fixture.
According to The Athletic he made sure he got assurances of his own from technical director Tim Steidten that Paqueta’s presence in the squad wouldn’t affect his selection
Steidten allegedly made it clear to the attacking midfielder that he would fit into the team alongside Paqueta who is currently at the centre of a footballing betting probe.
Unless he can play left wing on place of Benrhama I can’t see how he gets into the team. Moyes would rather play Soucek instead.
It will be interesting to see the line up Moyes favours. I fear he will doggedly include Soucek for his height alone. We looked very good with a wide left outlet, Benny, for sticking options and to stop the long ball counter. Benny needs to either practise or stop the shooting from just outside the box though, he can’t hit the target. Perhaps a fit Corner could play that role? Clearly Fornals can’t. Where will Kudus play? Let’s see what happens, I hope for the best, but Moyes has a history of good players bad system sadly.
