David Moyes looks set to leave West Ham at the end of the season, and Julen Lopetegui has met with Hammers owner David Sullivan according to breaking news reports.
Former Wolves manager Lopetegui is one of the front-runners to replace David Moyes at The London Stadium when his contract expires at the end of the season. The former Madrid boss
is seen to have a similar coaching philosophy to David Moyes, who earned his pragmatic reputation at Everton and found it followed him into his role at Manchester United.
It hasn’t all been bad for David Moyes, whose tactics and team formation were perfectly suited to European football. Ironically, Lopetegui has faced similar criticisms but was equally successful in Europe by winning the UEFA Europa League with Sevilla.
Where West Ham coach Moyes has struggled this season has been in the Premier League, where his defensive tactics have let him down with the club conceding an avalanche of goals.
David Sullivan will have to get this decision right. Tim Steidten is forwarding other candidates, but at this point, the Spaniard looks most likely.
Clueless as always Sully. Swapping one dinosaur for another. I PROMISE this appointment would mean protests asap. Leave it to Tim
We don’t need or want Moyes v2.
We need an injection of new ideas and an attacking philosophy.
As Pete said ‘leave it to Tim’
Julen Lopetegui no thanks. Would rather keep Moyes.
To replace Moyes in my eyes. I’m a bit biased towards Gary O Neil and Michael Carrick being former hammers. Gary o Neil is proven in the premier league. Or take a shot on the manager from Northern Ireland who’s doing great things over at Ipswich. This could be quite a smart move especially with all the young northern Irish kids we have coming through like Callum Marshall.
Not Gary O Dear ffs! He’s even more uninspiring than Moyes.
That’s the last thing we want , to be back with Moyes Mk 2, for god sake is it impossible to understand #moyesout
Why has he got to interfere just let Tim get on with job. Sullivan’s like a ten ton weight holding this club back. He needs to go with Moyes. We don’t what Moyes mark 2 . We want the complete opposite. I have more faith in Tim getting it right instead of Sullivan. If we end up with Moyes mark 2 I can see the demos against the board returning.
Seriously nothing been done yet only hear say
Lopetegui is into possession, winning by short margins and conceding few goals.
If you want a more attacking style of football, there are several German Managers out there that fit the bill.
