Sullivan jnr claims board member spat at

|

Jack-and-David-Sullivan-775x436David Sullivan jnr ( above left with brother Jack) has claimed a member of the board was spat at by fans during the Watford game.

Following West Ham launching an investigation promising a “full review” of security at the former Olympic Stadium after the “segregation line” between Watford and West Ham fans was breached the co chairman’s son has tweeted the spiting incident.

But there was also scuffles between home fans and stewards, employed by the stadium owners, seeking to ensure supporters remain seated during matches.

He said: “We were being verbally abused by our fans whilst stewards stood and did nothing. One board member was even spat on by fans.”

    Gets better by the minute

There’s a lot of negativity about the whole Olympic Stadium experience, it starts when you leave the station, you’re herded about like cattle, shown no respect and sent round the houses to actually get to the Stadium.

You eventually arrive at the turnstiles to be met by a bunch of schoolboys wearing hi-viz jackets chatting and laughing amongst themselves, whose only purpose that I can see is to block your way to the actual gate.

There’s the standing issue that’s getting out of hand!

There’s the Stewarding issue – years of experience and expertise from the old Upton Park stewards has just been thrown away – young, untrained people have been recruited as Stewards on miminum wages and you wonder why they’re not doing a decent job.

No visible segregation, there’s a disaster waiting to happen when the ‘big’ teams come to visit!

Virtually no Police presence – a couple of Officers lounging around outside but no presence within the actual Stadium – another short-sighted decision taken by the Stadiums operators.

No one would condone hooliganism or bad behaviour but all these things add up to a negative experience – add to all this the Team having a nightmare just made for a really miserable day!

    That’s enough for now!

    Not happy then Michael 🙂

I’m definitely not impressed with the whole ‘experience’ the only positives I can think of is that the journey is a lot easier and that I can buy a decent pint inside the Stadium.

Even that was a bit of a joke on Saturday, the children behind the Real Ale bars were struggling to get the beer flowing from the barrels, a punter in the ever increasing queue happened to be a Publican and he noticed that the spiles had not been removed from the barrels, letting in the air and allowing the beer to flow. This guy pushed the children behind the bar out of the way and was seen hammering thr spiles out with a plastic bottle – what a farce!

Lol well having run a pub myself I can’t tell you that yeah not much will happen until they are knocked out.Usually with a plastic mallet though not a bloody plastic bottle.Farce seems the right word Michael 🙂

I would like to see our board be more active in getting the issues with the stadium sorted. Make us feel we are being listened to not threatening us with being banned for standing. But we have the best owners in the premier league and spitting at people who are working for the club is just wrong. Disagree and make your case but that’s foul.
