Sullivan’s mystery ‘S’ man

|

robert_snodgrass_21-07-2014_1Co-chairman’s son Jack Sullivan has started a storm of speculation after reports that Hull City have accepted £10 million bids from both Burnley and the Hammers for Robert Snodgrass.

The teenager tweeted the single letter ‘S’  after the Sky Sports had reported the Tigers had decided the move was now down to the player has sought  an explanation!

However his cryptic one letter message that could have represented the ‘S’ in Scott Hogan although it now appears the Hammers have indeed moved to hijack Burnley’s attempts to land Snodgrass.

Sullivan jnr had teased his followers by simply tweeting the letter ‘S’ as the news broke with sources telling ClaretandHugh: “We can’t discuss, transfers until they are completed.”

However, that in itself gives strong indication that a deal is very much on unless the 29 year old decides on switching to Turf Moor .

That looked nailed on at one point in the last 24 hours but the BBC is reporting this morning: ‘The Tigers say the move is now down to the player and he has not yet gone for a medical at Burnley.’

I would be well happy if we could add Snodgrass to the squad.Good player.

Agree would cover Payet in goals with twice the work rate,
Maybe not so spectacular at times but tackles back better and would jell with Antonio,Lanzini,Fernandez,Feggolui
Just what the doctor ordered and if we sell Payet we would have enough for Hogan as well

If we can get this one over the line combined with the Fonte signing it will be some superb business for about 18 mill for the pair.

I like this too. He is not young but at his peak for the current team. Gives breathing space for our younger U23 players to become realistic first teamers.

    Replacement for tore not payet.

I wonder if any announcements or medicals might take place tomorrow, his side have a huge semi-final match this evening, would be poor judgement to announce a move on a day it is likely his club would exit a cup.

Some people on here were moaning earlier about lack of ambition, but I agree with most of today’s posters that this is a sound move. Transfer policy seems to be changing towards going for solid characters with Prem experience, even if a bit long in the tooth. I think this makes sense, rather than going for glamour signings. The young stars are not coming to our sort of club. At the moment we need good characters to get back that team ethic we had last year. Would still like another striker, but if we got Snodgrass that should mean a few goals from midfield & free kicks ( sorry skipper, you won’t get the job back yet). With him plus Lanzini,Antonio & Kouyate there should goals from midfield.

Very happy with Snodgrass if it happens. Fonte and Snoddy what’s not to like? A couple more before deadline I predict and all that from a club that are skint. Who’d have thought?

Hulls owners eh? Who would have them? Fighting a relegation battle and they selll 2 of their best players. And people slag off the Davids? I’d make a serious enquiry for their fullback Robertson next I would.

  • Colin Irons says:

Some fans are still moanimg about a lack of ambition because we have signed Fonte & are going for Snodgrass H64.For me they are top additions to our squad if it happens.I dont really know what some fans want.If Snodgrass was Italian or French they wouod probably be getting a stiffen over him lol

  • Hammer64 says:

Yeah agree Colin. I have had enough ‘excitement’ thanks to Dimi the Dummy for this year. Now I will settle for a few good pros who will train, turn up shut up & work for their pay. Think Fonte will do that & Snodgrass if he comes.

If we get snodders deal done ..I’d be happy…good squad /team player…..would love us to try and acquire Ashley young on loan till the end of season or buy .. Fonte, snodders, and young would really boast our squad no end….on the subject of Scott Hogan ….I think we should maybe leave him until maybe the summer as he’s an unknown quantity any at 15 million is a big ask……things aren’t looking too good for Sturridge atm….I’d rather plump for him as we know what we’d be getting striker wise but he also has injury history too….

  • TRB says:

Neither player is good enough for West Ham.

I wish Jack Sullivan would stop playing his stupid juvenile games

  • Radai Lama..Out of contract & available says:

So who is good enough fo us for TRB.Are you going to wait for Messi or Bale? 😁
