The Newham council-led London Stadium Safety Advisory Group (SAG) has once again turned down supporter representative at its meetings claiming they are already crowded. Minutes from the June West Ham Independent Supporters’ Committee (ISC) reveal that while the club supported an ISC representative to discuss Club issues with the SAG alongside the Club, it was recognised that the SAG committee was already highly populated.
The safety group chaired led by Newham’s Sheila Roberts have instead offered that the Club, SAG Chair and the ISC meet separately on safety matters to ensure that supporters are represented.
The official safety committee made up of Newham Council, West Ham, Met Police, British Transport Police, Westfield, London Ambulance, SGSA, London Underground and stadium owners LLDC who usually met regularly during the season to address any safety concerns at West Ham games at the London Stadium.
The Safety Group have long resisted direct fan representation at their meetings despite other areas in the country welcoming it.
This is just such a typical reason why we all pay so much tax, look at the amount of people sitting in on this, it’s embarrassing.
Anyone who works for a big organisation knows that the people that sit in big meetings are generally full of crap and can’t decide or change anything.
They are career meetings people.
Getting supporters on board would only highlight how ineffective and a waste of taxpayers money all this would be.
Let’s not kid ourselves, this ain’t rocket science.
