The Hammers Numbers game

|

The international break drags on so let’s play a numbers game for some entertainment.

No, not transfer fee numbers or wages but players numbers. Let us have a look at who wore each number best for the club.

Starting at the highest number working down to the lowest, it is with some honourable mentions we will start with.

The highest shirt number ever in West Ham history was Dan Kemp (zero appearances and now playing for Stevenage) who had the number 68.

The numbers 49, 50, 51, 53, 55, 59, 61, 62, 64, 65, and 66 were all only ever used by one player each. Out of those, the most high profile player would be Ben Johnson wearing 53.

Counting down from the ’50s into to the ’40s,we have at 54, Connor Coventry..and number 48 belongs to the out on loan Dan Potts.

Number 45 would be Grady Diangana.

44 has only been worn for a maximum of one year by any player and perhaps Reece Burke topped that list

The where is he now? Marcus Browne is the most memorable 43 but really only because he wore it the longest.

Martin Samuelsen is the most notable 42 even though he rarely played at all for the senior team. At 41… do we even need to say? Is our very own Declan Rice .

And at 40, Freddie Sears. He only wore it for one year but the hype that followed him was never realized.

Numbers 30 to 20 will be revealed tomorrow !
