The West Ham turn around

|

West Ham have conceded the second least goals this season after conceding the second most last season of any non relegated side.

WhoScored.com have published statistics showing the most the conceded goals from non-relegated clubs last season.

Aston Villa topped the table with 67 conceded goals followed by West Ham on 62, next came Southampton on 60 followed by Newcastle on 58 then Everton on 56.

Comparing it to this season, Aston Villa have conceded just two goals, West Ham on four goals while Everton and Newcastle have both conceded five goals.

Everton are leading the Premier League table with 12 points winning all four games with Aston Villa an incredible second on nine points.

West Ham sits in tenth place in the top half of the table with six points from two losses and two wins both of which were clean sheets.

The Hammers lost two-nil on a poor first day of the new season but were unlucky to lose 2-1 to Arsenal on the second game of the campaign.

A 4-0 win over Wolves and a 3-0 win over Leciester City has suggested David Moyes has resolved some of the Hammers defensive frailties.

However we are still counting Liverpool’s & Manures goals conceded!

Moyes called it a few games ago didn’t he when he said In an interview that last year we’d have been top half based on the goals Scored column but relegated based on the goals against column. So it was simple maths, just tighten up the defence. You need to score more than you let in. Scoring goals was never our problem. Letting them in was.

There was the issue of some very dire Goalkeeping to consider also , Frank . .. which did a fare bit to almost relegate us . And we let chance after chance to score slip through our boots . It was a terrible combination of errors in reality .
