Thrilled Michail believes we will be safe

|

Mikey Antonio celebrated his four goal spree against Norwich by declaring: “That puts all the pressure on Aston Villa and Bournemouth.

“We are in a good position and very focused. We want to keep  doing what we are doing and we all believe now we will be safe. ”

Antonio was beynd probably anything we have seen in his career today and recalling that he cost us a mere £7 million five years ago seems one of football’s astonishing stories.

He scored fou very different goals and that was probably down to what manager Moyes had told him before the game.

Mikey explained: “He told me to stay in the penalty area and all the goals came from there. It was amazing to get that hat-trick. The first goal was probably my favourite.

“Every game we play from now on is a Cup Final but we have had a very big three points today. As I say, we just want to keep doing what we are doing.”

Yep Mickey was great , and you’d think the game was all about him, but it wasn’t. Mickey is benefitting from players behind him like souchek, Bowen and fornals all working their nads off. Combine that with the defensive hard work of rice, enables noble to sit and pass, (his best quality) it’s all coming together now. Hats off to Moysie, he has really got them playing.

Well done Michail. I have been one of your biggest critics at times…. ie lacking that “killer” finish.. But never questioned your endeavour…. Hopefully we can breath more easily now… COYI..

Really pleased for Mark Noble. He has received a lot of unfair criticism recently and responded in the best way possible with his leadership qualities and absolute commitment to West Ham!

Superb performance from Antonio and most of our side today bar the dreadful cresswell and Fred not much better. Two full backs needed and some players to let go cresswell Fred Wilshire yarmo lanzini all can go imo and get in another keeper two full backs one that can also play at centre back . With Grady coming back and sou and Bowen great buys then we can afford to take a few high earners off the wage bill and use a few youngsters as back ups. Imo

That was fantastic from Antonio but it was also a team performance. The lads worked hard ok there was some nice football but it was the effort that made the difference. Hope we keep it up would it be to much to hope to win the next 3. I believe we can do that if we keep working hard . Great stuff, I’m a happy hammer , keep it up lads ! COYI ⚒⚒⚒⚒-⚽️

You have to praise Moyes too.A lot of Hammers fans have really torn into him since taking over expecting instant miracles but he is getting there and Soucek and Bowen are his players and what a difference they have made.Once the season is over he can start to rebuild and create his own team rather than juggle around with so many Pellegrini players. The work ethic is there now and that is the most important thing.Hard to see Villa and Bournemouth catching us now by the way.

This is cocky. We aren’t safe. Both villa and Bournemouth can win tmrw and bring us right back into it. Don’t like this kind of thinking at all.

  • Newtown says:

Very professional performance today and great credit to Antonio . He is limited technically but his attitude is beyond reproach.
At 7 million he has proven to be the most effective and value for money signing of the last 5 years .
