According to David Gold, Enner Valencia’s work permit could be issued as early as next week. It is understood that a hearing has been scheduled to coincide with Sam Allardyce’s return from New Zealand. West Ham will play their last game in Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday 26th July and will probably then make their 30 hour return journey to arrive back in the UK on Monday.
The next pre season friendly game is scheduled for 2nd August in Germany against Schalke 04 in the Schalke 04 Cup in the Veltins Arena, Gelsenkirchen. This would leave a jet jagged Sam Allardyce precious little time to attend a work permit appeal hearing before heading off to Germany in advance of the next pre season friendly .
i’d like to think the hearing is just a formality & weve actually already established that he’s met the quota of international games played over the last 2 years before going to all this trouble esp as weve failed recently in getting work permits for players!
Valencia is new to the international game hence he hasn’t played 75% of games in the past two years. He will require an appeal hearing on the grounds of exceptional talent
