West Ham are in action at the Rush Green Stadium for FA Youth Cup with Arsenal.
The West Ham United U18s overcame Luton Town and Norwich City U18s at Kenilworth and Carrow Roads respectively, have reached the FA Youth Cup fifth round for the first time in nine seasons. So far, those two games have produced goals – a 3-3 draw against Luton followed by a 4-2 win for West Ham on penalties, and a 5-0 win away at Norwich – excitement, and no shortage of entertainment.
Managed by U18s lead coach Kevin Keen, tonight the Hammers’ youth team have a shot at reaching the quarter-finals of this prestigious competition for the first time since the 2004/05 season. Standing in the Academy of Football’s way of reaching that landmark, however, are a talented Arsenal U18s outfit, managed by Ken Gillard and currently placed seventh in the U18 Premier League South table.
