Partner of LA private equity firm The Chernin Group (TCG) Greg Bettinelli says West Ham is worth between £795m and £2.65bn.
The American investor was talking to Kieran Maguire on the Price of Football podcast this week. Bettinelli says that West Ham belongs to an elite group of nine Premier League clubs that can command a valuation of three to ten times their turnover.
The nine clubs include Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham. He claims that the three additional clubs outside the traditional top six are attractive investments to the US market as they are more likely to qualify for Europe than get relegated each season. West Ham’s revenue is likely to be £265m this season outside of player trading.
A three times valuation would value the Hammers at £795m four times at a valuation of over £1billion, eight times multiplier is worth over £2 billion with ten times reaching a massive valuation of £2.65 billion.
He’s really stuck his neck on the line with that range.
It’s totally ridiculous comments made about west hams worth times this with that and you get billons having a laugh get real coyi
All based on Manure’s estimated value vs their turnover to get to the 10 times.
New flash West Ham do not have the global branding of Manure. Maybe actual manure, but certainly not the football club.
