West Ham digging heels in

West Ham United are digging their heels in, aiming to retain their prized technical director Tim Steidten amidst reported interest from Liverpool. The Hammers are confident they can keep hold of Steidten, whose astute work has attracted attention from the Merseyside giants.

Steidten has impressed since arriving at West Ham last summer, following successful stints at Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen. He orchestrated key signings like Mohammed Kudus and Edson Alvarez, bolstering the Hammers’ squad despite the departure of Declan Rice to Arsenal.

Liverpool, preparing for Jurgen Klopp’s departure, are seeking a new sporting director to spearhead their rebuild. Steidten’s sharp eye for talent has caught their attention, making him a potential candidate for the role.

While flattered by the Liverpool interest, Steidten hasn’t been contacted officially. Reports suggest a sizeable compensation package would be required to pry him away from West Ham.

Despite recent struggles and David Moyes‘ increasingly uncertain future, West Ham value Steidten’s contributions. Whether he stays amidst Liverpool’s pursuit and potential managerial changes at West Ham remains to be seen
