West Ham Eye Contract Extensions for Veteran Duo

Contract Extensions for Veteran Duo

West Ham United are looking to extend the contracts of experienced players Łukasz Fabiański and Angelo Ogbonna, according to insider ExWHUEmployee on The West Ham Way Podcast.

Despite  fan discontent, West Ham are currently well-positioned in the Premier League, aiming for a fourth consecutive European campaign. Additionally, they’re in the Europa League quarterfinals.

However, the club is proactively addressing expiring contracts to ensure a smooth transition for next season.

As previously reported by ExWHUEmployee, contract negotiations with Ben Johnson haven’t yielded a positive outcome. A move to Crystal Palace appears more likely, although West Ham will continue talks in hopes of reaching an agreement.

The club’s focus has shifted to Fabiański and Ogbonna, with one-year extensions likely to be offered.

“Fabiański has impressed despite being the number two goalkeeper,” ExWHUEmployee stated.  His professionalism and family’s settled life in London suggest a willingness to stay.

Similar sentiments are reported for Ogbonna. West Ham hopes to secure him for another year,  although a pay cut from his current contract is likely.

West Ham’s proactive approach aims to retain valuable experience within the squad while navigating potential departures and contract renewals.
